2、 Cause Analysis of Diesel Generator Sets Consuming Oil Too Fast
1. The normal wear caused by the long-term use of the engine or the abnormal wear caused by improper maintenance will cause the cylinder liner of the diesel engine to form longitudinal drag marks, and the cylinder diameter and piston side clearance will exceed the specified value, which will reduce the supporting force of the piston ring accordingly and cause the phenomenon of dirty oil scraping. Or, due to the internal support twisting spring inside the oil ring breaking at the opening position of the oil ring, the scraping oil is not clean and participates in combustion, causing severe oil consumption symptoms, manifested as difficulty starting the diesel engine, obvious blue smoke emitting from the exhaust pipe, and severe fuel injection from the respirator. Furthermore, the side of the piston that should have been facing upwards, when assembled, causes the combustion chamber to form an inverted state due to the inverted direction. Although it will not affect the starting of the diesel engine, the oil loss will be quite severe, with a daily fuel consumption of around 0.5 kilograms.
2. When excessive oil consumption is found, it is necessary to first check whether there is oil leakage at the connections between the engine body and the gear compartment cover, the large plate on one side of the driving wheel, the rear cover, and the cover. If there is an oil leak, attention should be paid to observing the integrity of the sealing gaskets at each connection part, and any damaged sealing gaskets should be replaced. If the sealing gasket is complete, check if the connecting screws of each part are loose. Use a wrench to tighten the loose bolts to the specified torque. If the above parts are basically normal and the oil leakage is located in the frame position, the oil casing should be inspected. The main inspection area is at the front end of the oil casing side on the same side as the driving wheel. Due to loose screws on the frame, the driving wheel has long-term friction with the frame angle iron that protects the oil casing under the pulling of the triangular belt, which will grind the oil casing through and form a gap, resulting in oil leakage
